An onsite security guard is a dedicated officer embedded at your property for a defined shift. Unlike a patrol vehicle that visits, an onsite officer is present and accountable for the duration of the shift. Lobby, gate, dock, parking deck, executive floor, retail floor, or anywhere a continuous security presence makes the difference.

How Onsite Security Guard Works at First Class

Onsite security guard service is the right answer when your property needs an officer in one place for an extended period. The officer becomes part of the daily rhythm of the property, knows the regular faces, recognizes the unusual, and is the visible point of contact for security questions, visitor management, and incident response.

First Class Security provides onsite guards for commercial real estate, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, residential, hospitality, and industrial properties across Middle Tennessee. Our officers are uniformed, state certified, federally and county background checked, and walked through a structured post orientation specific to your property before their first shift. Same officers return shift after shift wherever practical, so you get consistency rather than a rotating cast.

Common onsite assignments include dedicated lobby officer for a corporate headquarters or Class A office building, gate officer for a gated community or industrial yard, dock officer for a distribution center, retail floor officer for loss prevention, residential gate or front desk officer at an apartment complex, and overnight officer at a vacant or transitional commercial property.

Coverage is structured around shifts, typically 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts depending on the post and the property's needs. A small post might run a single officer during business hours. A large facility might run continuous 24/7 coverage with multiple officers across rotating shifts plus a relief officer for breaks. Every onsite assignment is supported by a Nashville based supervisor who visits the post in person on a regular cadence and is available for escalation 24/7.

Modern equivalent services are unarmed guards for the standard onsite officer assignment, armed guards for posts that specifically require armed presence, and supplemental services like shared patrol for off shift coverage when a continuous officer is not justified, and firewatch service when the property has fire system impairments.

Onsite Security Guard FAQ

Onsite Security Guard Common Questions

Will I have the same officer every shift?

Wherever practical, yes. We assign a primary officer to each post and keep them there shift after shift so they get to know your property, your team, and your routines. We also have backup officers familiar with each post for vacation, sick days, and shift swaps.

What hours can you cover?

Any. Single shift, double shift, business hours only, overnight only, or continuous 24/7. Coverage is structured around the shifts that match your property's actual needs.

How is the officer supervised?

Every onsite officer is assigned to a Nashville based supervisor who visits the post in person on a regular cadence (typically weekly), is reachable 24/7 by radio and phone, and handles escalations directly. Supervisors are not just dispatch operators, they are field operators who know the post.

What happens if my regular officer is sick or on vacation?

We assign a backup officer who has been familiarized with your post. The transition is documented and your account manager is notified. Most clients do not notice when a primary officer is out because the backup has the same post orientation.
